‘Luke Cage’: Marvel Officially Announces Season 2

Sweet Christmas! Marvel has released a video announcing that a second season of their hit Netflix series 'Luke Cage' is in the works.

Sweet Christmas, indeed! After the success of the first season, Marvel and Netflix have announced that a second season of the hit series Luke Cage featuring Mike Colter as the titular hero is now officially in development.

The season finale sets up quite a bit of exciting details for what’s to come for these characters – much of whom we will next be seeing in Marvel’s The Defenders. Thankfully, certain narrative devices are aptly revealed to fans following Luke’s significant impact on the Harlem community.

What do you guys hope to see in the second season of Luke Cage? Personally, I would *love* to see Finn Jones join the cast, so we can see an extension of the dynamic between Luke and Iron Fist which we will finally get a taste of when The Defenders is released next year.

Here’s the official synopsis for the Luke Cage series:

“After a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage (Mike Colter) becomes a fugitive who attempts to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. But soon he is pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city – forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury.”

All episodes of Marvel’s Luke Cage are available to stream on Netflix. Luke Cage will next be seen in Marvel’s The Defenders in 2017 alongside Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist. How excited are you to finally see these characters unite? Sound off in the comments below.
