New Trailer For ‘Marvel’s Avengers’ Spotlights Story & Customization Options

A new trailer shows off how players will be able to upgrade the heroes in Marvel’s Avengers in addition to revealing more details about the game’s story.

Although fans were disappointed to learn that Crystal Dynamics’ Marvel’s Avengers has been delayed until September of this year, a new video reveals a little more of what to expect from the adventure game. It shows off how players will be able to customize their heroes with different gear and perks to suit their individual play style. The video uses Iron Man as the perfect example, showing off the different weapons and gadgets that can be equipped as well as several different skins for the hero, taking their cues from the comics. Players will even get to upgrade and customize their own helicarrier throughout the game.

The Marvel’s Avengers video from IGN also teases more about the story of the game, revealing that in the void left by the Avengers, Advanced Idea Mechanics (A.I.M.) swoop in to keep the world safe. They use drones to police the planet, something that feels like a nod towards Ultron, but that’s just speculation at this point. Some of the mission descriptions also reveal more about the story, with one moment referring to “Dr. Pym,” a.k.a. Ant-Man, so it seems that other heroes will make their way into the game. You can check out the video below.

Are you excited to finally play the game when it arrives in September? Sound off in the comments below!

Here is the official synopsis for Crystal Dynamics’ Marvel’s Avengers:

Marvel’s Avengers begins at A-Day, where Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk, Black Widow, and Thor are unveiling a hi-tech Avengers Headquarters in San Francisco — including the reveal of their own helicarrier powered by an experimental energy source. The celebration turns deadly when a catastrophic accident results in massive devastation. Blamed for the tragedy, the Avengers disband. Five years later, with all Super Heroes outlawed and the world in peril, the only hope is to reassemble Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

Featuring regular content updates, Marvel’s Avengers will take players on an epic journey delivered over multiple years. This game is what’s next for the Avengers.

Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on Crystal Dynamics’ Marvel’s Avengers.
