New ‘King’ TV Spot Released For Marvel’s ‘Black Panther’

Marvel releases a new TV spot for 'Black Panther,' the upcoming superhero film featuring Chadwick Boseman as the titular king of Wakanda.

With the release of Marvel’s Black Panther right around the corner, a new TV spot has been released featuring Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa, who looks ready to finally step into the spotlight.

The new 30-second spot leans heavily on the action, showcasing the spectacle that Ryan Coogler’s Marvel film looks to deliver on. As the threat posed by villains Erik Killmonger and Ulysses Klaue looms over this entire spot, we get a sense that T’Challa is prepared to fulfill his destiny as the king that Wakanda needs and the hero that audiences have been waiting to see in his own feature film for years.

Here is the film’s official plot synopsis:

Black Panther follows T’Challa who, after the events of “Captain America: Civil War,” returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation of Wakanda to take his place as King. However, when an old enemy reappears on the radar, T’Challa’s mettle as King and Black Panther is tested when he is drawn into a conflict that puts the entire fate of Wakanda and the world at risk.

Directed by Ryan Coogler, the film stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Angela Bassett, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke,  Florence Kasumba, Sterling K. Brown, Andy Serkis and John Kan.

Black Panther is set to hit theaters on February 16, 2018.
