Marvel Releases Touching New Tribute To Stan Lee

The world has not stopped mourning the late, great Stan Lee, the legendary Publisher of Marvel Comics. Since his unfortunate passing back in November, there has been no shortage of tributes, including a new one from the company he once pioneered, Marvel Comics.

Via Comic Book, if you pick up a new issue of a Marvel comic today, then you will find a message penned by Stan Lee himself during Stan’s Soapbox back in July of 1967:

“This is as good a place as any to thank you once more for being the most wonderful fans any publishing company ever had! If Marvel is on top of the heap, it’s your support that’s put us there! If Marvel gives you the type of mags you want, it’s our letters that have told us how! And, if Marvel occasionally comes up with a clinker, go hang your head, hero! Whatever we are, you’ve made us! We’ve had a lot of laughs together, and a lot of excitement- and the best is till ahead! So face front, frantic one. Marvel’s on the march- and we’re not taking a step without you! On behalf of the entire batty Bullpen, to True Believers, everywhere- we’ll never let you down, ‘cause you’re the ever-loving’ greatest!”

It was the first year of the famous Stan Lee column, which was an important part of what became known as the Bullpen Bulletins, the information page that appeared in most regular monthly issues from Marvel Comics. Stan Lee used his Soapbox to reach out to reads to talk to them about a wide-reaching array of topics in a poignant and meaningful and hopefully engaging way.

Will you be picking up a Marvel comic book with this touching tribute? How do you continue to honor Stan Lee and his legacy now that he is no longer with us? We would love to hear from you, so hit us up in the comments with your stories!

Set in the 1990s, Marvel Studios’ “Captain Marvel” is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that follows the journey of Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes. While a galactic war between two alien races reaches Earth, Danvers finds herself and a small cadre of allies at the center of the maelstrom.

Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, McKenna Grace, Clark Gregg and Jude Law.

The film is slated to hit theaters on March 8, 2019.
