Iron Fist and Luke Cage may have been canceled but Erik Oleson isn’t ready to let Marvel and Netflix’s Daredevil die just yet.
2018 hasn’t been too kind to fans of the Marvel Netflix series. Both second seasons of Luke Cage and Iron Fist failed to garner the necessary numbers needed to earn further seasons. Shortly after the cancelation of both series, Daredevil season 3 hit Netflix and although earning great word of mouth amongst critics and fans alike, the latest addition to the inaugural Marvel Netflix series also failed to earn the impressive numbers of its previous season.
This has caused many fans to worry that the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen won’t be back for another season, but that hasn’t stopped season 3 showrunner Erik Oleson from pitching the fourth one to Netflix. Oleson took to Twitter to reveal to fans that he had pitched the new season but there has yet to be an official renewal announcement just yet. Check out Oleson’s tweet announcing the meeting below.
The third season of Daredevil left plenty of room for a fourth season to come in and tie up some loose ends but even if the show isn’t renewed, the Marvel Netflix series won’t end there. Currently in production are The Punisher season 2 and Jessica Jones season 3. Even if Daredevil is canceled, the Marvel Netflix universe has proved that it is willing to use iconic heroes across multiple shows, such as Danny Rand (Finn Jones), a.k.a. Iron Fist, showing up in season 2 of Luke Cage or Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal), a.k.a. the Punisher, being introduced in Daredevil season 2.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding Daredevil as soon as more information becomes available. What’s your opinion of the latest season of Daredevil? If the show is canceled, how would you like to see the character, and other canceled characters, show up in other Marvel Netflix series down the line? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
