In addition to a brand new slate of feature films, Marvel Studios’ post-Avengers: Endgame plans include multiple series for the upcoming Disney+ streaming service. Among the projects being developed is a series centered on Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson and Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes titled Falcon and Winter Soldier.
Now, TheWrap reports that Marvel Studios has enlisted writer Derek Kolstad to pen Falcon and Winter Soldier, which is reportedly aiming to begin production later this year in Atlanta. Derek Kolstad’s previous writing credits include the first John Wick film and the upcoming spin-off television series titled The Continental.
Full plot details for Marvel Studios’ Falcon and Winter Soldier are currently wraps, though it will follow Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson and Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes after the events of Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame. Actors Daniel Bruhl and Emily Van Camp are in talks to reprise their respective roles as Helmut Zemo and Sharon Carter. Kari Skogland is reportedly directing the six-episode mini-series.
Falcon and Winter Soldier is just one of the Marvel Studios series being developed for Disney Plus. These projects include Loki, WandaVision, a Hawkeye series, and an animated show based on the What If? comics.
Marvel Studios’ Falcon and Winter Soldier is expected to air in August 2020.
