Marvel Exec Slams Rumor Disney Is Shutting Down Marvel Comics

Marvel Exec Joe Quesada has officially shut down rumors that Disney is closing down Marvel Comics.

Avengers: Endgame hits theaters this April and will be the twenty-second film in the long-running Marvel Cinematic Universe. Despite the continued success of the MCU, a recent rumor suggested that Disney would be shutting down Marvel Comics. Joe Quesada has since come out to clarify that the rumors are false.

Joe Quesada took to his Twitter to clarify that Disney is not closing up Marvel Comics anytime soon. Quesada is known for producing television series such as Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.Daredevil, and Luke Cage. He’s also known for his years of work as a writer and artist for comics such as Batman, Spider-Man, and Daredevil. Check out the message to fans from Joe Quesada in the post below.

Before Avengers: Endgame arrives in theaters, the MCU will introduce audiences to a new hero in Captain Marvel, which hits the big screen next week. The film stars Brie Larson as the cosmic hero teased during the end credits scene of Avengers: Infinity War. The third and final MCU adventure hitting theaters this year is Sony’s Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Despite these rumors regarding Marvel Comics, which were thankfully proven false, Disney and Marvel Studios recently had a very successful night at the Academy Awards. Black Panther won the studio its first three Oscars, which were for Production Design, Costume Design, and Best Original Score. Avengers: Infinity War was also nominated but lost its nomination for Best Visual FX to the Neil Armstrong biopic First Man.
