Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige On Josh Brolin Playing Thanos & Cable

Last week fans learned that Josh Brolin had officially been cast as Cable in Deadpool 2, signing a four-picture deal to appear as the character in future films set in Fox’s Marvel universe. Of course with Brolin also playing the role of Thanos, the primary antagonist of the next two Avengers films, a number of fans took issue with the actor taking on two Marvel-related roles. At an open house even with members of the press, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige addressed the recent casting news, praising Brolin’s work on Avengers: Infinity War and expressing his confidence in Brolin’s ability to play Cable.

Feige commended Josh Brolin’s performance as Thanos and offered an update on how much work the actor has already completed for the film. ComicBook.com writes:

[He is] “killing it” as Thanos. The crew, currently filming Avengers: Infinity War in Scotland, has already shot “a good bit” of Brolin in the role.

Feige also offered his support to Josh Brolin and his ability to play Cable.

“I think he’ll make one hell of a Cable.”
