‘The Inhumans’: Marvel Series Finds Its Black Bolt In Anson Mount

It's been revealed that Hell on Wheels star Anson Mount has signed on to play Black Bolt in Marvel's upcoming Inhumans series.

Marvel’s upcoming Inhumans series has found its Black Bolt.

Entertainment Weekly has revealed that Hell on Wheels star Anson Mount has signed on to play the leader of the Inhuman royal family in the highly anticipated ABC series, which is set to debut its first two episodes in IMAX theaters this September.

In an official statement, Jeph Loeb, Head of Marvel Television, had the following to say about Mount’s casting as Black Bolt.

“Anson loves the challenge of playing a character who will only communicate silently. His enthusiasm mixed with his imposing almost regal persona made it easy to see why he is our Black Bolt.”

Showrunner Scott Buck — whose other Marvel series (Iron Fist) arrives on Netflix next month — added:

“Black Bolt is a character whose deep complexity must be conveyed without uttering a single word, and I’m very excited to have Anson on board to bring him to life.”

Mount is the second actor to join the cast of the upcoming series, the first being Game of Thrones star Iwan Rheon, who’s on board to play his on-screen brother, Maximus.

Following its IMAX bow, The Inhumans is slated to continue its eight-episode run on ABC starting on September 26th. Are you excited?
