The Marvel shows were all recently cancelled despite their success on Netflix. Both seasons of Luke Cage were met with positive reviews. Daredevil recently had an amazing reaction to its third season. Despite Iron Fist‘s bad reviews in its first season, season two started to make progress, showing potential for the show’s future. Punisher was doing very well for itself as well despite having low ratings in its second season. Jessica Jones season 3 coming out later this year on Netflix, but it won’t be returning after that. The cancellation of these shows is definitely heartbreaking as the future for them was very bright. Iron Fist season 2 showrunner M. Raven Metzner shared his thoughts on the matter on Twitter, and you can check out what he had to say below.
While the series are cancelled on Netflix, there have been talks about Hulu picking up the series and continuing where they left off. Nothing about this has been confirmed yet. Everyone apart of the Marvel television universe however is on board with the idea of continuing their respective shows. Hopefully this can become a reality as these shows were cancelled way too early. If it’s really the end, it’s safe to say it was a fantastic run full of memorable comic book television moments fans won’t forget.
The third season of Jessica Jones is expected to debut this summer while fans can watch the second season of The Punisher right now. Here’s the official synopsis for The Punisher:
