In a recent interview with Josh Horowitz of MTV News, Kevin Feige explained that there is still a bit of tweaking going on with Carol Danvers’ upcoming solo adventure movie. Were he not at the Golden Globes at the moment, Feige explained that he would probably have a hand in helping finish the final product before Captain Marvel hits theaters in a few months. He also had nothing but praise for main lead Brie Larson in the role of Carol Danvers:
“Brie Larson is incredible. She’s an amazing actor. We are still working on the cut — VFX coming together, music’s coming together, the final mix =- were I not on this carpet talking to you right now, I’d be in the cutting room and on the mix stage where the rest of the team is right this second.”
You can watch Kevin Feige discuss the brief Captain Marvel update in the video below at the 2:07 mark.
With Brie Larson ready to suit up as Carol Danvers in a few months, what are your thoughts and expectations thus far for the upcoming Captain Marvel film? And what do you hope we might get to see in future TV spots or trailers? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below:
“Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, Captain Marvel sidesteps the traditional origin-story template, and when it begins, Carol already has her powers. She’s left her earthly life behind to join an elite Kree military team called Starforce, led by Jude Law’s enigmatic commander. But before long, Carol finds herself back on Earth with new questions about her past. And she’s got a formidable enemy in the form of the Skrulls — the notorious Marvel baddies made all the more dangerous by their shape-shifting abilities. Ben Mendelsohn plays their leader Talos, who spearheads a Skrull invasion of Earth.”
Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, Mckenna Grace, Clark Gregg, and Jude Law.
The film will fly into theaters on March 8, 2019.
