Christian Bale is joining to the Marvel Cinematic Universe!

Marvel’s Kevin Feige has revealed the identity of Christian Bale’s Thor: Love and Thunder villain.

With Thor: Love and Thunder set to begin production in January 2021, Kevin Feige has confirmed that former Batman actor Christian Bale is joining the Marvel Studios project as Gorr the God Butcher. Feige broke the news during the Disney 2020 Investor Day presentation.

Created by Jason Aaron and Esad Ribic, Gorr the God Butcher made his debut in the pages of Thor: God of Thunder #2, released in January 2013. The Marvel Studios movie marks the character’s first live-action appearance.

Full details on the plot for Thor: Love and Thunder are currently under wraps, though the film will be partly based on Jason Aaron’s Mighty Thor comic book run, with Jane Foster becoming the new Thor. Directed by Taika Waititi from a script he co-wrote with Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, Love and Thunder also stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman and Tessa Thompson.
