VIDEO: Marvel Remembers The Life And Legacy Of Stan Lee

Yesterday, the entertainment and comic industry… nay, the industry as a whole was suddenly rocked when Marvel Comics co-creator Stan Lee passed away at the age of 95. Since then, tons of tributes from an innumerable amount of people in the industry, not just the world of Marvel, have poured in with many remembering not just what Lee brought to comics, but how he influenced their lives and careers. It goes without saying how many people have been affected by Stan Lee’s works, not the least of which includes how he shaped pop culture.

While the respective heads of Marvel Studios and Disney as a whole have posted their tributes to Stan Lee, Marvel proper took a moment today to remember the life, the legend, the man that is Stan Lee. From the main Avengers Twitter handle, Marvel posted the following message in remembrance of Lee.

“Marvel and The Walt Disney Company salute the life and career of Stan Lee and offer our undying gratitude for his unmatchable accomplishments within our halls. Every time you open a Marvel comic, Stan will be there. Please join us in remembering Stan “The Man” Lee.”

Accompanying this tribute tweet is a video compilation that goes as far back as 1968, with a young Lee discussing how he hopes to create a voice for young people. As we see various appearances from Stan, comic heads and legends such as Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada and Marvel Entertainment President Dan Buckley discuss Stan Lee’s legacy and how the many characters he helped create will ultimately be what remains with us.

Quesada, for example, talked about reading Lee’s soapboxes, and this is accompanied with a brief snippet of an interview where Lee explained that the soapboxes were a way for him to communicate and interact with the readers. Here, have a look at the video in the tweet below.

With a day passing since the tragic news, how have you taken the death of Stan Lee? And what memories of him will you always remember? Let us know your thoughts and memories of Stan the Man in the comments.

And as always, Excelsior!
