Tom Holland Teases Marvel One-Shots May Be Making A Comeback

'Spider-Man: Homecoming's Tom Holland teased that Marvel's short films, Marvel One-Shots, may be making a comeback since ending in 2014.

From 2011 to 2014, select Marvel Blu-Rays and digital releases included short films known as One-Shots. These brief self-contained stories gave fans an extra treat and an extra glimpse into parts of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. According to one Marvel star, One-Shots could soon be making a comeback.

While speaking with Uproxx about Spider-Man: Homecoming, Tom Holland (Spider-Man) expressed interest in seeing Ant-Man show up “every now and again” in future Spider-Man films. As he was talking, Holland said he wanted to do a short with Paul Rudd (Ant-Man) and teased that One-Shots could be returning.

After Holland said, “I want to do a short. That’s what I want to do. I want to do a 20-minute short with me and Paul Rudd…” Uproxx writer Mike Ryan mentioned to the actor that they used to do shorts like that, referencing the One-Shots. To this, Holland said: “Yeah. I think they are planning on doing it again,” before adding, “I probably just spoiled a big spoiler. Kevin Feige’s probably going to be furious.”

The cat may or may not be out of the bag as it were, but it sounds as if Tom Holland knows something about a potential return of Marvel One-Shots.

Previous One-Shots include The Consultant (2011), A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor’s Hammer (2011), Item 47 (2012), Agent Carter (2013), and All Hail the King (2014).

Spider-Man: Homecoming swings into theaters on July 7, 2017. The film features a cast that includes Tom Holland as Peter Parker (Spider-Man), Robert Downey Junior as Tony Stark (Iron Man), Zendaya Coleman as Michelle, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Tony Revolori as “Flash” Thompson, Laura Harrier as Liz Allan, Marisa Tomei as May Parker, Jon Favreau as Harold “Happy” Hogan, Michael Keaton as Adrian Toomes (Vulture), Bokeem Woodbine as Herman Schultz (Shocker), and Michael Chernus as Phineas Mason (Tinkerer).
