‘The Punisher’ Footage Description From Marvel’s Comic-Con Panel

Jon Bernthal dropped by the Marvel’s The Defenders Hall H panel at Comic-Con International in San Diego today to surprise those in attendance, but he didn’t come empty-handed. The actor brought a first look at his upcoming 13-part Marvel series The Punisher, which is set to debut on Netflix later this year.

While the sneak peek has not yet been released online, Heroic Hollywood’s Michael Mistroff was at the panel. You can check out his description of the footage below.

The sneak peek of The Punisher opens with a flashback of Frank Castle and his daughter before it cuts ahead to present day as he shoots and mows down a set of bikers while driving an SUV.

The footage then cuts to a man in Mexico who we see through the scope of a sniper rifle with a woman. Frank waits for a clear shot before firing and hitting him in the dead center of his forehead. The camera zooms out to reveal Frank fired the shot all the way from El Paso, Texas.

The last bit we see is of a prim executive in a bathroom stall while on a phone call.

A set of boots approach. It’s Frank. He busts open the stall door revealing the skull on his chest. The man pleads for his life telling Frank, “You’ve already taken care of everyone,” before Frank says, “Not everyone.” Frank proceeds to brutally beat the man to death as two other businessmen in the stall assume they are having sex.

Marvel’s The Punisher also stars Ben Barnes as Billy Russo, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Micro, Jason R. Moore as Curtis Hoyle, Daniel Webber as Lewis Walcott, Paul Schulze as Rawlins, Jaime Ray Newman as Sarah Lieberman, Michael Nathanson as Sam Stein, with Daredevil‘s Deborah Ann Woll returning as Karen Page. Here’s the synopsis:

After the murder of his family, Frank Castle is both haunted and hunted. In the criminal underworld, he’ll become known as The Punisher.

Netflix has not yet set an exact release date for Marvel’s The Punisher.
