Marvel Studios Returning To Hall H For San Diego Comic-Con 2019

The Wrap reports Marvel Studios will be making its return to Hall H this year at San Diego Comic-Con 2019 after skipping out last year.

According to the trade, Marvel Studios will be reassembling the cast of Avengers: Endgame for a reunion at the panel which is set for 5:15 p.m. on Saturday, July 20. It was first reported last month that Marvel Studios would be returning to SDCC for a panel with Kevin Feige previously confirming Marvel would be at the convention.

While details for what Marvel will announce at the panel, Disney CEO Bob Iger already teased a slate announcements coming this summer. Marvel Studios will also be present at D23 in August for their upcoming films and Disney+ TV shows.

Known future projects from Marvel Studios include the Black Widow standalone film starring Scarlett Johansson, which has been written by Jac Schaeffer and is currently in production. In addition, Marvel Studios also has the Black Panther sequel that Ryan Coogler is returning to write and direct in the works along with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, The Eternals, and a Shang-Chi standalone film.

While Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was originally slated to begin filming earlier this year, the project was put on hold after James Gunn was fired from the franchise. But now that the director has been brought back, production is expected to begin once Gunn completes The Suicide Squad for Warner Bros. and DC Films.

Marvel Studios has tapped Chloe Zhao to direct The Eternals from a script by Matthew and Ryan Firpo. Principal photography on the project is expected to begin in September of 2019 with a cast that currently includes Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, and Ma Dong-Seok. As for Shang-Chi, Marvel has enlisted director Destin Creston to helm the film which will introduce its first Asian lead protagonist from a script written by Chinese-American writer Dave Callaham.

Marvel Studios is currently closing out the third phase of its cinematic universe with Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Here’s the official synopsis for Spider-Man: Far From Home:

Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man must step up to take on new threats in a world that has changed forever.

Directed by Jon Watts from a script written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, Spider-Man: Far From Home stars Tom Holland, Jake Gyllenhaal, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori, Martin Starr, Numan Acar, J.B. Smoove, Oli Hill, Remy Hii, Marisa Tomei, Michael Keaton, Jon Favreau, Cobie Smulders, and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.
