Marvel Studios Reveals First Look At ‘The Eternals’ Costumes At D23

Marvel Studios’ The Eternals got a neat update today, with the cast of the film appearing alongside concept art of what their characters will look like in-costume.

Present on the Disney D23 stage were Richard Madden (Ikaris), Kumail Nanjiani (Kingo), Lauren Ridloff (Makkari), Brian Tyree Henry (Phastos), Salma Hayek (Ajak), Lia McHugh (Sprite), Don Lee (Gilgamesh), Angelina Jolie (Thena), Barry Keoghan (Druig), and Gemma Chan (Sersi). The only actor who has been cast so far who did not receive an announcement was Kit Harington, who has just been confirmed to play the non-Eternal character the Black Knight.

Check them out below:

The film has been described as a love letter to Jack Kirby’s iconic Marvel artwork, and while the movie’s approach to the costumes aren’t 1:1 recreations of his artwork on the original 1976 run, Kirby’s influence can clearly be seen.

Marvel Studios has tapped Chloe Zhao to direct the project from a script written by Matthew and Ryan Firpo. The duo is best known for their spec script Ruin, which managed to reach the top of the 2017 Black List.

Plot details for Eternals remain under wraps, however, the story reportedly features a love story between Ikaris and Sersi. Created by Jack Kirby in 1976, the Eternals are a fictional evolutionary offshoot of humanity created by the Celestials over a million years ago. The beings who possess superpowers and longer lifespans were the result of genetic experiments that led to the creation of two divergent races: The Eternals and The Deviants.

Marvel’s Eternals is set to be released on November 6, 2020. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on Eternals, and the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we learn it.
