With production now underway in Los Angeles, CA, photos from the set have been making their way online showing off the costumes worn by the female superhero team in the film set to hit theaters just under a year from now. Following set photos of Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn and Jurnee Smollett-Bell’s Black Canary, we finally have a look at Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s Huntress in action.
The actress was spotted on set filming Friday night along with her stunt double. The photos began making their way online yesterday but thanks to Just Jared, we’ve got a ton more photos offering a better look at Mary Elizabeth Winstead in costume on set of the DC girl-gang film. Mary Elizabeth Winstead takes on the role of Helena Bertinelli, aka Huntress. In the comics, Helena Bertinelli is the daughter of the Bertinelli Mafia family, one of Gotham’s leading crime families. After the murder of her parents, Helena takes up the mantle of Huntress to put an end to the mafia in Gotham once and for all.
Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) will feature the female superhero team coming together to protect Cassandra Cain after she comes across a diamond which belongs to Gotham City crime lord Black Mask. Cassandra Cain is the daughter of David Cain and Lady Shiva, raised to become one of the world’s greatest assassins before meeting Bruce Wayne and taking up the mantle of Batgirl in the comics.
