Old Matt Reeves Interview May Hint At Robin Fighting Alongside Robert Pattinson’s Batman

As more news and developments comes out regarding Matt Reeves’ The Batman starring Robert Pattinson as a younger Bruce Wayne, fans are already eager to see what the War for the Planet of the Apes director has planned in his new take on the Dark Knight. Well, an old interview with Variety may hint at Matt Reeves bringing Robin into the fray.

In 2017, Matt Reeves made an appearance on the Playback Podcast while promoting War for the Planet of the Apes, where he was naturally asked about The Batman. During the podcast, Matt Reeves mentioned how along with his Planet of the Apes toys, he would often play with both his Batman and Robin figures. Given that he loved playing with his toys depicting Batman and Robin, some believe that this lends credence to the idea that Robin will be introduced in Matt Reeves’ film.

Nearly two months ago, it was reported that along with a Rogues Gallery of iconic villains appearing, Robert Pattinson’s Batman may be accompanied by his sidekick Robin on this new adventure. This would mark the first big screen appearance of Robin alongside Batman since 1997’s Batman and Robin, where the beloved character was portrayed by Chris O’Donnell alongside George Clooney’s Bruce Wayne.

Dick Grayson/Robin can currently be seen in DC Universe’s Titans, where actor Brenton Thwaites brings him to life.

While nothing official has been announced in terms of Matt Reeves’ The Batman casting besides Robert Pattinson, it would be interesting to see the filmmaker fulfill a childhood fantasy in bringing Batman and Robin to the big screen, the same way he played with his toys of those characters when he was younger. He already did the same thing with Planet of the Apes, why not with Batman and Robin?
