On the heels of several different updates from Reeves himself, another update courtesy of The Hollywood Reporter revealed the length of the initial script of The Batman: a jam packed 160 pages. At that rate, we may cover every aspect of young Bruce Wayne’s life before he turns into Ben Affleck. Joking aside, as you know, movie scripts never ultimately stay that long, depending on the director. Just as films get cut down when they’re filmed, such is the case when it comes to a movie’s script.
In the case of this film, Matt Reeves is already cutting down the script. He will be doing more revisions in the months ahead, though chances are he’ll have it to the length that he prefers soon. Especially now that the film has a release date, you want to make sure the script is as fine-tuned as possible before the cameras start rolling.
Still, though, with Matt Reeves teasing a rogues gallery and given how much history there is in the 20 years that Bruce mentioned in Dawn of Justice, there’s no doubt a lot of ground that Matt Reeves can cover in his film. Ultimately, though, place your bets: how long do you think the script will ultimately be? Would you want to see as much content as possible in Reeves’ DC film? Let us know your thoughts on this and all recent news related to Matt Reeves’ DC project in the comments below and stay tuned for more updates in the months ahead.
