During a recent appearance at Wizard World Clevland, the reoccurring Constantine actor stated that he was hoping to be on the upcoming DC Swamp Thing series. He mentioned the character’s origins in Swamp Thing stating the character would probably be in the show eventually. He just hoped that he would be the one playing the character:
John Constantine was born in Swamp Thing. Eventually, he has to be on Swamp Thing, and I just hope it’s me.
Constantine, of course, first appeared in Alan Moore’s run on the character in The Saga of Swamp Thing #37. The character would eventually go on to have his own popular, long-running series and remains a mainstay in DC comics til this day. And from the look of things, Matt Ryan wants to be involved in some kind of adaptation of that story.
What do you all make of this? Would you like to see Matt Ryan return as Constantine for Swamp Thing? Should the show not cross into that territory? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
