Based on the comic book series by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons, director Matthew Vaughn’s first two Kingsman films centered on Taron Egerton’s Gary “Eggsy” Unwin’s efforts to save the world as an agent of Britain’s top-secret spy organization, The Kingsman. The first entry in the film series earned a worldwide total of $414 million worldwide while the sequel grossed $411 million globally, prompting Fox to give Matthew Vaughn the greenlight for a third chapter of the Kingsman story.
Now, Matthew Vaughn’s third entry in the film series will explore the origins of the spy agency and 20th Century Fox officially announced the prequel will be released in theaters in February 2020.
