Melissa Benoist Engaged To ‘Supergirl’ Co-Star Chris Wood

Kara Zor-El and Mon-El’s relationship on Supergirl may have had its ups and downs, but when talking about the real life love between actors Melissa Benoist and Chris Wood, it’s all solid.

Yes, while Melissa Benoist and Chris Wood may share the screen together on Supergirl, they are indeed an item outside of the CW series as well. Then, you know how it goes: first comes love, then comes marriage. That’s clearly the next move, as Benoist revealed yesterday that she and Chris Wood are engaged.

Taking to her Instagram yesterday, Benoist shared an image of her bearing a ring on her left hand while being kissed by boyfriend Chris Wood. Accompanying this image was the caption “yes yes yes it will always be yes.” Sounds like yes. Have a look at the celebratory post in the image below.

While Mon-El has not appeared on the series since the Season 3 finale, that clearly has no impact whatsoever on Melissa Benoist and Chris Wood’s relationship, nor would it in the first place. Still, though, what do you think of this engagement? Should it be officiated by David Ramsey? After all, Diggle has a thing for officiating weddings, at least on the Arrowverse. But anyway, what do you think of this engagement news? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Supergirl stars Melissa Benoist, Mehcad Brooks, Chyler Leigh, Katie McGrath, Jesse Rath, Lynda Carter, Sam Witwer, Nicole Maines, April Parker Jones, and David Harewood. The series airs on Sunday nights at 8 P.M. on the CW and will return with all new episodes on February 17.
