Henry Cavill’s days as Superman appear to be coming to an end due to the actor reportedly renegotiating his contract. When the reports of Henry Cavill leaving the role spread, Michael B Jordan’s name emerged as a name Warner Bros. was floating around to replace him. Michael B Jordan himself revealed recently that there have been no serious talks, but expressed great interest in playing Superman. However, Michael B Jordan admitted he would rather play Earth-23’s Calvin Ellis, than Clark Kent. New art from Savage Comics depicts Michael B Jordan replacing Henry Cavill in the Calvin Ellis costume:

Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).

Directed by David F. Sandberg, the film stars Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Mark Strong, Jack Dylan Grazer, Grace Fulton, Faithe Herman, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Cooper Andrews, Marta Milans, and Djimon Hounsou.

Shazam! will be released in theaters on April 5, 2019.
