Michael B. Jordan Responds To Rumors Of Replacing Henry Cavill As Superman

Michael B Jordan has finally responded to those rumors that he was in line to replace Henry Cavill as Superman and he has this to say.

When it was announced that Henry Cavill might not continue to play Superman and that the focus would be shifted to Supergirl, it was also hinted that the studio was looking at Michael B Jordan to don the cape and tights. Fans quickly backlashed because Michael B Jordan is African-American, and well… Superman is usually depicted as Caucasian. No one connected to Michael B Jordan has said anything on the Superman rumors, but now the man himself has come out and spoken on replacing Henry Cavill as the Man of Steel. You can check out the video below.

What do you think of Michael B Jordan’s comments? Would you like to see the actor play the Man of Steel? Sound off in the comments section below.

The Superman actor is currently filming The Witcher series for Netflix but fans are still hopeful for his return as Superman even after Ben Affleck’s exit from the role of Batman earlier this week. Henry Cavill dropped out of negotiations to reprise his role last year after the Warner Bros. failed to reach an agreement with the actor that would have seen him reprise his role Superman role for a two-line cameo in the next installment of the DCEU, Shazam!.

Although the actor has no plans to return as Superman any time soon, Warner Bros. is moving forward without him on a standalone Supergirl film, which Oren Uziel (22 Jump Street) is developing for the studio as an origin story for Superman’s cousin Kara Zor El. Michael B. Jordan has also been rumored to be the favorite for the studio to take on the role after Cavill.

Following Aquaman, which is now playing, the DCEU continues in April with Shazam! on April 5, 2019, which will be followed by Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) on February 7, 2020, and Wonder Woman 1984 on June 5, 2020. A standalone Joker film set outside of the DC Films universe starring Joaquin Phoenix as the Clown Prince of Crime is also set to hit theaters October 4, 2019.

Henry Cavill can be as Superman in Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Justice League.

Directed by James Wan, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Patrick Wilson as Orm / Ocean Master, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Ludi Lin as Captain Murk, and Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry.

From Warner Bros. Pictures and director, James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, “Aquaman,” starring Jason Momoa in the title role. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be… a king.

Aquaman is now playing. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on the future of the current DC cinematic universe as we learn it.

The Witcher is currently in development and stars Henry Cavill, Freya Allan, Anya Chalotra, Johdi May, Adam Levy, MyAnna Buring, Mimi Ndiweni, Therica Wilson-Read, and Millie Brady. Stay tuned for more details on a release date for the upcoming Netflix series.
