Michael Bay Shows Off His Custom Camera In New ‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ Set Video

Michael Bay has a pet, but it is not a dog, cat, fish, bird, or snake. In fact, it’s not an animal at all. Michael Bay’s pet is actually a custom, lightweight camera that he has  affectionately named “Bayhem” (his last name mixed with the word mayhem… get it?). Bayhem is an RED camera that was built custom for Bay, and the director touts it as “the lightest, most advanced hand held motion picture camera in the world”. He shared a quick video of Bayhem last week on Instagram, but it didn’t do the camera justice as it was only being used for a Victoria’s Secret commercial. Nothing as exciting or as large of a scale as a Transformers film.

While filming Transformers: The Last Knight, Bay shared a new video of Bayhem from the set, and gave fans a better look at his custom toy in action. Simply watching the camera film during the Victoria’s Secret commercial does not do it justice, but the new video from the set of The Last Knight shows an intense action scene being filmed. Bay is seen carrying Bayhem around quickly and easily as he shows off how simple the camera is to take Hollywood caliber shots. It is unknown for sure what is happening in the scene, but it looks like it’s going to be exciting. Check out the video below:

Bay is shown carrying around Bayhem easily and effortlessly, making quick cuts and catching the action of everything that was going on in front of him. Now that is convenience. Let’s be honest though, what else would you expect from a director like Michael Bay?

Transformers: The Last Knight is the next installment in Michael Bay’s Transformers franchise, bringing Mark Wahlberg back to reprise his role from Age of Extinction, alongside Josh Duhamel and Tyrese Gibson who were both in the first three movies. The Last Knight is slated for a June 23rd, 2017 release.
