Michael Giacchino, the composer behind 'Doctor Strange' and 'Rogue One', will return to Disney to score 'Spider-Man: Homecoming'.
There’s a correlation between this though, as Michael Giacchino has reportedly been tapped to compose the score. Giacchino scored Doctor Strange, and he’s working on another Disney movie too: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
How did this news break? Surprisingly, Reddit. A particularly sharing user posted the following:
“On Thursday night I went to a a screening of Dr. Strange with Kevin Feige and Scott Derickson, and there was a Q&A afterwards.”
Kevin Feige accidentally let slip that Michael Giacchino will be composing the music for Spider-Man: Homecoming. He then said “We announced that right? I really hope we announced that.”
The last Spider-Man movie, which starred Andrew Garfield as the wall-crawler, was scored by Pharrell Williams and Hans Zimmer, so Giacchino has some big shoes to fill if he wants to keep up the high standard. Giacchino is often mentioned in the same conversation as John Williams, so it’s a no-brainer that Marvel and Disney are keen to keep him around.
Spider-Man: Homecoming swings into theaters on July 7, 2017.
