ESPN Turns Michael Jordan Into Thanos To Celebrate ‘The Last Dance’

ESPN has transformed Michael Jordan into Josh Brolin’s Thanos to celebrate the final episode of The Last Dance.

The 10-episode documentary series featured the untold story of Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls, offering fans an inside look behind the curtain of the 1997-98 championship team with never-before-seen footage. The series concluded with its ninth and tenth episodes on Sunday night.

To celebrate, ESPN took to Twitter to share a piece of art which transformed the legendary basketball player into Thanos, using a shot of the Mad Titan from the end of Avengers: Infinity War after his victory against Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and succeeding in his efforts to wipe out half of the universe’s population.

As for Josh Brolin’s Thanos, the character was last seen meeting his demise at the hands of Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame. But the character’s co-creator Jim Starlin recently shared that he believes we will see the evil villain again the Marvel’s The Eternals. Michael Jordan is also not the only celebrity we’ve seen Thanos depicted as earlier this year, as Marvel’s own Kevin Feige appeared as a Thanos-type villain in an episode of The Simpsons.

Here is the plot synopsis for Avengers: Endgame:

The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, “Avengers: Endgame.”

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau, Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Josh Brolin.

Avengers: Endgame is now available on Digital HD, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we learn it and you can also subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content in the future!
