The LEGO Group has unveiled a set based on Michael Keaton's Batmobile from Tim Burton's 1989 classic comic book film 'Batman'.
The new set, the LEGO DC Batman 1989 Batmobile, will be released on Black Friday (November 29, 2019) and is described to be a “beautifully detailed” set that replicates the classic curves of the vehicle as seen in Tim Burton’s iconic film that starred Academy Award-nominee Michael Keaton as the Caped Crusader.
The set will include some authentic features such as a slide-open cockpit, wraparound windshield and 2 hidden machine guns with a pop-up function. The Batmobile is said to be measured at 23 inches in length, built from 3,306 pieces and is equipped with a rotating display stand. Three minifigures are also included: Batman (Michael Keaton), The Joker (Jack Nicholson) and Vicki Vale (Kim Basinger).
Here’s LEGO’s official statement for those planning on purchasing the set, which includes an opportunity to receive a special gift:
The LEGO DC Batman 1989 Batmobile will be available Black Friday (November 29) at LEGO.com and LEGO brand retails stores. Those who purchase the set between November 29 and December 5 will also receive an additional, exclusive miniature replica of the new model as a free gift while supplies last.

Batman is one of the most beloved established IP’s that have achieved massive popularity through tie-ins with The LEGO Group. Obviously, numerous iterations of the Dark Knight have been given their own sets, including Tim Burton and Michael Keaton’s two films, but the character has also been prominent in video games and of course, his three appearances in films where Will Arnett voiced the character.
