Michael Keaton Is “Really Looking Forward” To ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’

At one point during the cast process, it seemed that Michael Keaton had dropped out of talks to join the cast of Spider-Man: Homecoming. However, luckily for us fans, the actor changed his mind is now set to star as the villain of the upcoming Jon Watts directed film. While we have yet to get confirmation that he would indeed be playing the character, he is rumored to play the ‘The Vulture’, who was recently confirmed to appear in the film. Speaking with Empire Magazine, the actor commented on how superhero films have taken over and now dominate the cinema these days.

“It’s extraordinary. You’re talking to a guy who basically knows nothing about the lore of that world. But my friend has two girls who are fascinated by superheroes. One in particular is way into them. I’m not kidding. I asked her about Spider-Man and she told me the movies I need to watch.”

We all know that this isn’t Keaton’s first time in the superhero game though, as he previously portrayed ‘Batman’ in the 1989 self-titled film. While another actor might have some hesitation returning to the genre after such a lengthy period, Keaton seems to have full faith in what Marvel Studios is doing and is looking forward to the project.

“Not really. I think it’s going to be cool and I’m really looking forward to it. Tom Holland is a wonderful actor and, I’ve got to say, from the early conversations I’ve had with Marvel, they’re really serious about how they approach their stuff. “

While the entire cast they’ve assembled for this one is spectacular (pun intended), Keaton is definitely the one I’m most excited about. How about you? Let us know what you think about Keaton’s comments in the section below.
