‘The Flash’ Set Photo Offers First Look At Batman Star Michael Keaton

Batman's back!

The latest set photos from Andy Muschietti’s The Flash feature Barry Allen star Ezra Miller and Batman star Michael Keaton.

One of the most exciting parts about The Flash is how the DC Films project will be exploring the multiverse and a bevy of new and old characters. While Ben Affleck will be returning as Batman, what’s even more exciting is Michael Keaton reprising his role as his own version of the Dark Knight. Keaton was last seen sa Bruce Wayne in 1992’s Batman Returns. After nearly three decades, Keaton is back as the character that made him an international star. Details are relatively slim on how his Bruce Wayne fits into the DC Extended Universe but it appears that he’ll be mentoring Barry Allen.

A new set photo from the London shoot of The Flash obtained by the Daily Mail shows Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne, rocking a slick blue suit and grey hair. The character appears to be at the foot of a courthouse alongside Barry Allen. It’s theorized that Barry is at the courthouse because of Henry Allen’s trial. Iris West was also spotted on the same set, clearly showing that this is meant to be a pivotal scene in The Flash.

Directed by Andy Muschietti from a script written by Birds of Prey scribe Christina Hodson, The Flash will be inspired by the Flashpoint comic storyline, which followed The Flash as he navigated an altered DC Universe. Written by Geoff Johns and penciled by Andy Kuber, Flashpoint radically altered the status of the DC Comics universe and led to the launch of the New 52 titles. It is currently unknown how much inspiration the upcoming Ezra Miller film will take from the comic.

The Flash is set to hit theaters on June 3, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news regarding the future of the DC Extended Universe, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more exclusive video content!
