Michael Mando Confirms His ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ Role

Spider-Man: Homecoming supporting actor Michael Mando confirmed who he'll be playing, and from the sound of things, it's a character Marvel has plans fr.

Spider-Man: Homecoming actor Michael Mando (Far Cry 3, Orphan BlackBetter Call Saul) has confirmed which character he played in the movie, leading to interesting possibilities of where Marvel Studios will be taking the franchise with the sequel. (Minor spoilers ahead!)

Last night before the premiere in Los Angeles, Mando shared the following image on Instagram to confirm that he’d be playing (drum roll) Mac Gargan in Homecoming, also known as the future Scorpion:

Mando’s role as the goon Mac Gargan was already confirmed on the cast list that was revealed when the film was recently screened prior to the premiere, but his enthusiasm to portray the Scorpion suggests that he’ll be suiting up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe really soon. Mando is incredibly skilled at portraying mentally unstable antagonists, and if he’s in then he’ll definitely help the MCU up their villain game (which already got a big boost this year with Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2‘s Ego the Living Planet, and Spider-Man: Homecoming‘s Vulture from the sound of things).

Spider-Man: Homecoming swings into theaters on July 7, 2017. The film features a cast that includes Tom Holland as Peter Parker (Spider-Man), Robert Downey Junior as Tony Stark (Iron Man), Zendaya Coleman as Michelle, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Tony Revolori as “Flash” Thompson, Laura Harrier as Liz Allan, Marisa Tomei as May Parker, Jon Favreau as Harold “Happy” Hogan, Michael Keaton as Adrian Toomes (Vulture), Bokeem Woodbine as Herman Schultz (Shocker), and Michael Chernus as Phineas Mason (Tinkerer).
