The Ant-Man films have something of an interesting place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The films are frequently released right after a major crossover film and very rarely generate the same level of critical and financial success. Regardless the films still have their enduring qualities which include Michael Peña’s Luis.
In the Ant-Man films, Michael Peña plays Scott Lang’s best friend Luis. The two meet together in jail and remained friends after they were both released. Now Michael Peña wants to reprise the role for Ant-Man 3 but in a recent interview with Coming Soon, he revealed that he unsure if he was coming back:
“For the last one, I didn’t really know what capacity I was going to come back in or if I was going to come back. I think they’re a year away from filming, I think it would be great if I could do a third one. But you never know, especially with all the stuff that happened in Endgame. Right now, Marvel’s in a situation where they can crush some expectations, they’re gonna have to crush some expectations of other characters, not just mine, so hopefully I make the cut.”
What do you all make of Michael Peña’s comments? Do you hope to see him in Ant-Man 3? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
Michael Peña’s Luis was last seen in Ant-Man and The Wasp:
From the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes “Ant-Man and The Wasp,” a new chapter featuring heroes with the astonishing ability to shrink. In the aftermath of “Captain America: Civil War,” Scott Lang is grappling with the consequences of his choices as both a superhero and a father. AS he struggles to rebalance his home life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, he’s confronted by Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym with an urgent new mission. Scott must once again put on the suit and learn to fight alongside the Wasp as the team works together to uncover secrets from the past.
Directed by Peyton Reed, Ant-Man and The Wasp stars Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Peña, Walton Goggins, Bobby Cannavale, Judy Greer, Tip “T.I.” Harris, David Dastmalchian, Hannah John-Kamen, Abby Ryder Fortson, Randall Park, Michelle Pfeiffer, Laurence Fishburne, and Michael Douglas as Dr. Hank Pym.
