Michael Rosenbaum Passes On Lex Luthor Return For Arrowverse Crossover

Smallville star Michael Rosenbaum confirmed he passed on returning as Lex Luthor for the upcoming Arrowverse crossover.

For the first seven years of Smallville, Michael Rosenbaum portrayed Lex Luthor and his performance as Clark Kent’s friend-turned-foe is still well-regarded by many fans of the series. So, when news broke that Tom Welling and Erica Durance would reprise their respective roles as Clark Kent and Lois Lane in the Arrowverse crossover Crisis on Infinite Earths, many hoped Michael Rosenbaum would join them as Lex Luthor.

Unfortunately, Michael Rosenbaum confirmed he passed on the offer to reprise his role as Lex Luthor in the Arrowverse crossover in a lengthy Twitter post. As Michael Rosenbaum explained, Warner Bros. called his agents to ask him about returning as Lex Luthor on Friday while he was visiting his grandfather in Florida. However, Michael Rosenbaum turned down the chance to play Lex Luthor again because the studio offered him no script and no information on when he would be filming, all while requiring an answer right away.

Check out the post below to read Michael Rosenbaum’s full explanation for why he won’t return as Lex Luthor in the Arrowverse crossover.
