‘Star Wars’: Millie Bobby Brown Wants To Play Princess Leia

The Stranger Things star has once again expressed her desire to portray Princess Leia in a future installment of the Star Wars franchise.

Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown has once again expressed her desire to portray Princess Leia in a future installment of the Star Wars franchise.

The 13-year-old actress was asked about future roles she’d like to have last fall when she first revealed that she’d be interested in appearing as an even younger Princess Leia than we were first introduced to in Star Wars: A New Hope.

This past weekend during her spotlight panel at Emerald City Comic-Con, the actress was asked by a fan which role she would choose if she could play any to which Brown responded:

“Princess Leia, I love Carrie Fisher and it would be amazing to carry on her legacy.”

While Brown would no doubt be an excellent choice to play a young Leia, the chance of it happening is unlikely. Not impossible, but unlikely. If Brown was going to appear as the young Princess from Alderaan it would need to happy relatively soon as Carrie Fisher was 19 when she first appeared as the Princess. As of now, Lucasfilm does not currently have plans to develop a standalone Princess Leia film that we know of.

The Star Wars spin-offs themselves are in an effort to break away from the Skywalker saga and expand the universe with stories featuring other characters. In essence, a stand alone Leia film would contradict the entire point of the spin-off films.

Brown will next be seen when Stranger Things 2 hits Netflix this Halloween. The actress has also booked her first major movie role in Godzilla: King of Monsters which is expected to begin filming this June in Atlanta, GA.
