‘Morbius’ Star Jared Leto Teases Research On Spider-Man Villain

Morbius star Jared Leto teases his latest research on the Spider-Man villain for the upcoming Sony’s Universe of Marvel Characters film.

Off the heels of Venom‘s box office success, Sony’s Marvel Universe is in full swing without Spider-Man, as Morbius is expected to start filming next month and end in May. Leto has already started preparation on the film, shaving his beard, and doing some comic book research on the Spider-Man villain. Leto shared an image on Snapchat with him holding a special collector’s item of Marvel Comics’ Morbius: The Living Vampire #1.

Leto posted, debating whether or not he should open the collector’s item:

Are you excited for Morbius? Who do you think the Living Vampire should face? Do you think Venom will cameo? Comment below!

The film will be based on the Marvel comic Morbius the Living Vampire featuring the popular anti-hero who first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #101. In the comics, the famed scientist Dr. Michael Morbius attempted to cure himself of a rare blood disease and consequently developed a form of vampirism instead.

Directed Daniel Espinosa from a script written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, Morbius stars Jared Leto as the lead anti-hero. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are producing the project with Lucas Foster. Palak Patel will oversee for Sony.
