Jared Leto shared a new behind-the-scenes photo from the Spider-Man spin-off Morbius.

Sony’s Universe of Marvel Characters is set to continue with a new film centered on Morbius the Living Vampire, a classic Spider-Man anti-hero who will be portrayed by Academy Award-winning actor Jared Leto. Now, Jared Leto has taken to his official Instagram account to share a photo from the set of Morbius and it offers fans their first official glimpse at the titular character.

You can check out the photo in the post below!

The film will be based on the Marvel comic Morbius the Living Vampire featuring the popular anti-hero, who first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #101. In the comics, the famed scientist Dr. Michael Morbius attempted to cure himself of a rare blood disease and consequently developed a form of vampirism instead.

Directed Daniel Espinosa from a script written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, Morbius stars Jared Leto as the lead anti-hero, Martine Bancroft, Loxias Crown, Matt Smith, and Jared Harris. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are producing the project with Lucas Foster. Palak Patel will oversee for Sony.

Morbius will be released in theaters on July 31, 2020.
