‘The Mummy’ Director Says Film Will Not Feature A Post-Credits Scene

Universal Pictures’ shared universe of gods and monsters will kick off when The Mummy hits theaters on Friday. The first in a series of film reboots featuring the studio’s classic cinematic monsters, fans have wondered how The Mummy might set up future installments of the planned franchise. In an interview with IGN, director Alex Kurtzman confirmed that any hints on future Dark Universe films will not be included in the form of a post-credits scene.

Kurtzman explained that there are currently no plans to include post-credits sequences in the Dark Universe films, at least as the cinematic universe continues to be developed.

“No, no, that’s Marvel’s domain. So render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s. Maybe it’ll feel more appropriate down the line, as the universe builds itself. I don’t think any of wanted to be accused of ripping off what they did so well.”
