In the film, Boutella has four different looks in the film, with each adding its own unique flair to the film’s mythos. For example, in her final look, Boutella is seen sporting symbols which were painted on her skin. The symbols actually come from the Egyptian Book of the Dead, but Boutella’s sense of humor kicked in when she and her costume design team exchanged words:
“As a joke, me and the team of lovely make-up artists liked to say that it’s an Ancient Egyptian pancake recipe.”
