‘Aladdin’: First Look At Naomi Scott’s Princess Jasmine Wedding Outfit Revealed

The first look at the wedding costumes for Naomi Scott’s Princess Jasmine and Mena Massoud’s Aladdin from the upcoming live-action Disney remake have been revealed.

The live-action retelling of the hit 1992 animated children’s film appears to be drawing influence from one of Aladdin‘s direct to home video sequels, specifically Aladdin and the King of Thieves as these new dolls tease a marriage in the film between Mena Massoud and Naomi Scott’s version of the iconic characters.

You can check out the first look at Mena Massoud’s and Naomi Scotts wedding outfits from Aladdin below.

Disney’s new Aladdin is set to feature plenty of new takes on the classic musical numbers from the original Aladdin as composer Alan Menken returned to provide the film’s score, in addition to co-writing new songs with La La Land’s Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, one of which will be a solo for Naomi Scott’s Princess Jasmine titled “Speechless.”

While the new Aladdin appears to be a faithful adaptation of the original, Naomi Scott will have a much stronger character arc in the new Aladdin compared to Princess Jasmine in the original film. The new film will feature Naomi Scott’s Princess Jasmine wanting to take on more of a leadership role in the city of Agrabah, rather than just looking to find the love of her life, though that does remain an important part of her journey in the film.

So what do you think? Are you excited to see Mena Massoud’s Aladdin and Naomi Scott’s Princess Jasmine possibly get married in the new film? Are you disappointed they aren’t waiting to have Mena Massoud’s Aladdin and Naomi Scott’s Princess Jasmine get married in a sequel? Are you excited for Naomi Scott’s new music in the film? Do you think Naomi Scott was a good choice for Princess Jasmine? Let us know in the comments below!

Guy Ritchie has directed the film from a script written by John August (Big Fish) and Game of Thrones writer Vanessa Taylor. August and Ritchie are also producing the film with Dan Lin. Marc Platt (La La Land) and Chris Montan (Frozen) are consulting for the project with Jonathan Eirich (Deathnote) serving as executive producer.

The cast features Mena Massoud who stars in the titular role of Aladdin, as well as Will Smith as the Genie, Power Rangers star Naomi Scott as Jasmine, Numan Acar (Homeland) as Hakim, the head of the guards and Jafar’s right-hand man, and Marwan Kenzari as Jafar. In addition, the live-action remake features new characters made just for the film played by Billy Magnussen (Game Night) and former Saturday Night Live comedienne Nasim Pedrad.

“Aladdin” is the exciting tale of the charming street rat Aladdin, the courageous and self-determined Princess Jasmine and the Genie who may be the key to their future.

The film is currently slated to hit theaters May 24, 2019. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on Disney’s upcoming live-action adaptation of the animated classic Aladdin as we learn it.
