The star arrived in the country with her family supposedly to start work on the 'Thor' sequel.
Although work on the next films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was delayed due to the ongoing pandemic, Natalie Portman recently arrived in Australia as rumors suggest the studio is getting ready to start production on Thor: Love and Thunder. The star had previously revealed that work was due to start on the sequel from director Taika Waititi at the start of 2021, but it seems production could begin sooner than expected. The sequel will adapt part of Jason Aaron’s Mighty Thor comics where Jane Foster becomes the new God of Thunder. Although Taika Waititi said earlier this year that he wasn’t sure if the film will adapt the full story, saying they haven’t decided if Jane will have cancer as she does in the source material.
The Daily Mail revealed the news that Thor: Love and Thunder star Natalie Portman had arrived in Sydney, Australia, with her family in tow. The publication wrote in its headline that the film is set to start shooting soon, but that remains unconfirmed. Marvel Studios is also shooting Simu Liu’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings in the country, with a recent video showing off one of the huge sets for the film. If the God of Thunder’s sequel really is getting ready to start filming, hopefully we’ll learn more news about Jane Foster’s role in the film soon.

Full details on the plot for Taika Waititi’s Thor: Love and Thunder are currently under wraps, though the film will be partly based on Jason Aaron’s Mighty Thor comic book run, in which Jane Foster becomes the new Thor. Directed by Taika Waititi from a script he co-wrote with Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, the film stars Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, Natalie Portman, and Christian Bale.
Thor: Love and Thunder is set to be released on February 11, 2022. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on Taika Waititi and Chris Hemsworth and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more great video content!
