‘Game Of Thrones’ Star Nathalie Emmanuel Responds To Season 8 Backlash

Game of Thrones star Nathalie Emmanuel, who played Missandei in the show, is weighing in on the fan backlash on the final season.

Nathalie Emmanuel played Daenerys Targaryen’s right-hand-woman Missandei in HBO’s Game of Thrones. Those who watched the final season know that, unfortunately, Nathalie Emmanuel’s Missandei faced a gruesome death that shifted both Daenerys and Grey Worm’s personalities completely. In an interview with TVLine, Nathalie Emmanuel talked about how displeased she was with the fan backlash to the final season of the series. The actress said the following:

“Listen, I think it’s totally fine if you don’t like something. That’s perfectly acceptable. What I didn’t like was that people were signing a petition,” Nathalie Emmanuel continued “You can’t ask for receipts on art. You just can’t. The art has been created for you, and you can either choose to like it or not.”

After the season wrapped in May, many fans were upset about the outcome. Fans were so angry that a petition on Change.org to reshoot season 8 has over 1.6 million signatures.

Nathalie Emmanuel has several projects coming up. The actress will play one of the lead characters of the upcoming Hulu miniseries Four Weddings and a Funeral based on the popular British movie of the same name. She will also star in the upcoming Netflix prequel series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. That’s not all, though. Natalie Emmanuel will also star in an upcoming movie called Holly Slept Over and return as Megan Ramsey for Fast & Furious 9.
