The Andy Serkis-directed Mowgli has been in production so long that it was being discussed before even 2016’s The Jungle Book hit the big screen. There came a time when news on the film became scarce, but earlier this year the trailer for the film was finally released. Shortly after, the film was sold to Netflix, much like The Cloverfield Paradox released last February.
Once again, news on the film became quiet but now Netflix has released a brand new trailer, which officially retitles the film Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle. The trailer is packed with new, impressive footage that shows that this isn’t just a cheaper, darker version of 2016’s The Jungle Book. Check out the trailer below to get a glimpse at the streaming service’s upcoming blockbuster release.
As seen in the trailer, the film will be available to stream on Netflix starting December 7th. Not only that, but apparently the film will also be released in some select theaters. Hopefully, this new retelling of the classic tale will get better buzz than The Cloverfield Paradox, especially with it releasing in time for Awards season, but we’ll have to wait just a few weeks to find out.
