‘Stranger Things’: Netflix Easter Egg Turns Things Upside-Down

Stranger Things fans who want to visit the Upside-Down - for whatever reason - are free to do so on Netflix via a neat Easter Egg.

Fans have noticed that Netflix has added a particularly sinister Easter Egg on its service that takes subscribers to “the Upside-Down” alternate dimension seen in Stranger Things.

Fans using Reddit have just discovered an interesting Easter Egg by fiddling with the Netflix interface on the page dedicated to the popular show. After finding Stranger Things through a search, viewers can click on the description to get a closer look at the show itself, but attentive viewers might eventually notice that a set of Christmas lights start glowing after a while. Clicking on them warps viewers to the Upside-Down, where viewers met “The Demogorgon” back in Season 1.

Stranger Things is a series full of mysteries, but perhaps the biggest one would be why anyone would want to go into the Upside-Down. In any case, if you’re brave enough, you can give a trip to the dark, eerie alternate world a shot. Just be careful not to stay too long…

Stranger Things 2 hits Netflix on October 27, 2017. Its cast includes Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Dacre Montgomery, and Cara Buono.
