The new superhero film which has been described as a swashbuckling action-adventure Momoa’s Arthur Curry as he goes up against both his half-brother Orm (Patrick Wilson) — who is ready to wage a war on the surface world — while on a journey to accepting his role as the King of Atlantis. The DC hero will also face the villainous Black Manta who makes his live-action debut, played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.

Aquaman also features Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus, Ludi Lin as Murk, with Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanna and Temuera Morrison as Arthur’s father Thomas Curry.
Based on characters created by Paul Norris and Mort Weisinger, the script has been written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick and Will Beall based on a story by Geoff Johns, Wan and Beall. Peter Safran and Rob Cowan have produced the film with Deborah Snyder, Zack Snyder, Jon Berg, Johns, and Walter Hamada serving as executive producers.
