A brand new poster for Marvel Studios' and director Ryan Coogler's upcoming film Black Panther has been revealed at San Diego Comic Con 2017.
Twitter user @pairolleth shared an image of the new poster, which can be seen on display at SDCC, and it looks awesome. The poster depicts T’Challa himself, aka the Black Panther, perched atop a large Panther statue (not unlike the one seen in the post-credits scene of Captain America: Civil War), overlooking the incredibly high-tech, almost futuristic city of Wakana. The poster also features the film’s tagline, “Long Live The King.”
Directed by Ryan Coogler, the film stars Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa/Black Panther, Michael B. Jordan as Erik Killmonger, Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia, Danai Gurira as Okoye, Martin Freeman as Everett K. Ross, Daniel Kaluuya as W’Kabi, Angela Bassett as Ramonda, Letitia Wright as Shuri, Forest Whitaker as Zuri, Winston Duke as M’Baku, Florence Kasumba as Ayo, Sterling K. Brown as N’Jobu, Andy Serkis as Ulysses Klaue and John Kani as King T’Chaka.
Black Panther follows T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) who, after the events of Captain America: Civil War, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation of Wakanda to take his place as King. However, when an old enemy reappears on the radar, T’Challa’s mettle as King and Black Panther is tested when he is drawn into a conflict that puts the entire fate of Wakanda and the world at risk.
Marvel’s Black Panther hits theaters on February 16, 2018.
