‘New Mutants’, ‘Deadpool 2’ & ‘X-Men: Dark Phoenix’ Get Release Dates

'New Mutants', 'Deadpool 2' & 'X-Men: Dark Phoenix' get release dates. The three Twentieth Century Fox movies are all slated for the same year.

Mark your calendars, because it looks like 2018 will be full of X-Men films, with a side dose of Deadpool. 20th Century Fox has officially announced the released dates for Josh Boone’s New Mutants, the finally confirmed X-Men: Dark Phoenix film, and the Ryan Reynolds-starring Deadpool 2.

All three films will be released in theaters at some point in 2018. New Mutants will hit theaters on April 13, 2018, Deadpool 2 on June 1, 2018, and X-Men: Dark Phoenix on November 2, 2018. For 20th Century Fox, this will be the most superhero films they’ve released in one year. Last year, they had Deadpool and X-Men: Apocalypse and as they add more and more projects, expanding their X-Men universe in the process, we’re more than likely to continue seeing additional films being released in the same year.

Last year, our very own editor-in-chief, Umberto Gonzalez, broke the news that 20th Century Fox would indeed be tackling the Dark Phoenix storyline now that the timeline post-Days of Future Past was rebooted. Now, the fact that the Dark Phoenix movie has officially been given a release date, it finally means that we may get the Phoenix storyline that was explored very briefly in X-Men: The Last Stand.

It’s wise to note that while all three of these releases take place in the same universe, Deadpool 2 is still set apart from the other two films. There isn’t a whole lot of information regarding New Mutants and Dark Phoenix, the title of which the studio has finally confirmed, but perhaps the former will lead into the latter.

Are you excited for 2oth Century Fox’s 2018 slate of films? They finally look like they’re going to go full throttle with the Dark Phoenix storyline, do you think they’ll do it justice? Let us know in the comments below!
