‘The New Mutants’ Image Reveals Brand New Look At The Full Cast

A new image from the X-Men spin-off The New Mutants has surfaced offering a new look at the teen mutants of the upcoming film including Anya Taylor-Joy as Magik.

The New Mutants is the first X-Men film to step into the horror genre as it draws influence from New Mutants No. 18. Plot details on the project remain under wraps, however, the angst-driven adventures of the teen mutants is set to take the X-Men franchise into the horror genre. It has also rumored to feature the mutants battling against the dangers of their own powers as they try to save themselves.

The new image offers a look at the cast including Anya Taylor-Joy as Magik, Henry Zaga as Sunspot in the X-Men film, Maisie Williams as Wolfsbane, Charlie Heaton as Cannonball, Blu Hunt as Moonstar. Check it out below!

Initially scheduled to hit theaters in April 2018, The New Mutants has since been pushed back twice with reports indicating that the project is set to undergo significant reshoots in order to make it a full-fledged horror film.

Based on the Marvel Comics team of the same name, the film centers on five young mutants who are just discovering their abilities while being held in a secret facility against their will.

Directed by Josh Boone from a script co-written by Knate Lee, The New Mutants stars Anya Taylor-Joy as Illyana Rasputin / Magik, Maisie Williams as Rahne Sinclair / Wolfsbane, Charlie Heaton as Sam Guthrie / Cannonball, Henry Zaga as Roberto da Costa / Sunspot, Blu Hunt as Danielle Moonstar / Mirage, and Alice Braga as Cecilia Reyes.

“Held in a secret facility against their will, five new mutants have to battle the dangers of their powers, as well as the sins of their past. They aren’t out to save the world — they’re just trying to save themselves.”

The New Mutants is scheduled to be released in theaters on August 2, 2019.
