Possible New Jack Kirby-Inspired ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ Logo Revealed

A possible new Thor: Ragnarok logo has been discovered by a Twitter user. The logo appears to be inspired by the works of Jack Kirby.

We may have just gotten our first look at a brand new logo for Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok thanks to the Twitter account of Artistswork.

The tweet in question shows a t-shirt given to the film’s art department, which features a somewhat different variation on the Ragnarok logo we’ve been seeing since its debut last July. It’s more of an old-school comic book look than the highly-polished ’80s retro one. The logo as well, as the shirt’s design, appears to be inspired by the works of Jack Kirby, one of the most influential artists in the history of comics. The Marvel universe simply would not exist without him. Along with Stan Lee, Kirby co-created the Avengers, Fantastic Four, X-Men, The Hulk, Black Panther, as well as Marvel’s version of Thor. He also co-created Captain America with Joe Simn and created the New Gods (including Darkseid) for DC. Check out the tweet below:

Thor: Ragnarok stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Sir Anthony as Odin, Cate Blanchett as Hela, Jeff Goldblum as the Grandmaster, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Karl Urban as Skurge and Sam Neill in an undisclosed role. It was also recently confirmed that Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange will appear. Here’s the synopsis:

“In Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok – the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization – at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger – the Incredible Hulk!”

Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters November 3, 2017.
