See Nicolas Cage Return As Superman For Ezra Miller’s ‘The Flash’

Superman Lives.

A new concept design for Ezra Miller’s The Flash movie imagines Ghost Rider star Nicolas Cage as Superman.

As many fans already know, Nicolas Cage was at one point set to play Superman in a feature film from Batman director Tim Burton, with the project’s script written by Kevin Smith. Although the story behind Superman Lives is now well known, fans still want to see Cage get the chance to play the superhero in Ezra Miller’s The Flash in some kind of multiverse-related cameo. It would bring Cage’s flirtation with the DC Comics icon full-circle after even voicing him in the animated film Teen Titans Go! To the Movies.

We already know that The Flash will bring back Batman actors Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton thanks to Barry Allen’s time travelling adventures. However, a recent rumor claimed that Nicolas Cage is in talks to board the movie as Superman, the character he never got to embody in Tim Burton’s Superman Lives. This concept design from digital artist ‘spdrmnkyxxiii’ on Instagram shows off what Nicolas Cage’s Superman suit could look in Ezra Miller’s The Flash, highlighting the detailed costume and the red and black symbol. Take a look below.

Directed by Andy Muschietti from a script written by Birds of Prey scribe Christina Hodson, The Flash will be inspired by the Flashpoint comic storyline which followed The Flash as he navigated an altered DC Universe. Written by Geoff Johns and penciled by Andy Kuber, Flashpoint radically altered the status of the DC Comics universe and led to the launch of the New 52 titles. It is currently unknown how much inspiration the upcoming Ezra Miller film will take from the comic.

The Flash is set to hit theaters on June 3rd, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news on Nicolas Cage, Ezra Miller and The Flash, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more exclusive video content.
